Marion Tavares
Campaign: The Matter of Britain

A one-handed investigator is a good chance to move your deck away from hand items and towards events, which is, you know, the entire point of her ability. So I put a bunch of fighty events in my deck - Counterattack, One-Two Punch, Righteous Hunt, etc. Then the reality of being a guardian in a two-player team kicked in and I found myself picking up a Fire Axe or Machete for every scenario - weapons not even suited to fighting off multiple enemies at once. For the final (!) scenario of this campaign I finally picked up an upgraded Blessed Blade, which made a world of difference and I should have done it way sooner. Or actually build an event-based deck so I could properly take advantage of Marion's ability. I will at least say that Bound For the Horizon came in clutch for discarding all those events I never played.

Michael McGlen
Campaign: The Drowned City

I get resources for shooting my guns? Cool! Well, since you'll be cycling through weapons often, you need some kind of engine to keep the resources coming in order to play them in the first place. I guess I thought Michael's ability alone would keep the money coming, but it didn't really work out like that. For some reason, I only had one Emergency Cache in my deck, and often found myself strapped for cash instead of strapped with weapons. Also, something I never really noticed before was how much a lot of the 0 xp guns stink. Upgrades fixed a lot of these issues and even gave myself Another Day, Another Dollar in hopes of getting some guns in my hands early. Some other clutch cards: Fence, Extra Ammunition, Locked and Loaded.
